Tuesday 19th May

Good morning year 2/3

How are you all doing? I hope you all had a lovely day, what did you get up to?

I've had a brilliant day looking at some of the pictures sent in from AM doing some cooking, super exercises, and her brilliant writing about her plants! There was also some fantastic French from TA, and some brilliant writing from PH using inverted commas for speech. This really brought a smile to my face and set me up for a brilliant day!

English

As some of you know, my favourite football team is Arsenal. In the 2003–04 season, Arsenal regained the Premier League without a single defeat. Over the 38 games played, their league record stood at 26 wins, 12 draws and 0 losses!

I have attached a diary sheet for you to complete. Imagine you were there, the day Arsenal played Leicester City on the final day of the Premier League

Year 2 - Can you use sentences with different forms: statement, question, exclamation, command, in your speech? [For example, Was this going to be the year the mighty gunners became the first team to go a whole season without being defeated? I couldn't wait for kick off, I was buzzing with excitement!]

Year 3 - When writing your diary extract, make sure you are using paragraphs to tell the reader what happens in chronological order, as well as using sentences with different forms.

As a challenge, can you write how Patrick Viera, one of Arsenals most famous captains, who captained the invincible Arsenal team would have felt at the final whistle?

Maths

Year 2 - I have attached a Powerpoint for you to have a look at and some questions to have a go at about related facts. As a challenge, do you think you can complete the challenge sheet and solve the problems?

Year 3 - I have attached a Powerpoint for you to have a look at and some questions to have a go at about subtracting a one digit number from a three digit number. As a challenge, do you think you can complete the challenge sheet and solve the problems?

Also everyone try to get on TT rockstars as well so you can practice your times tables!

History

As some of you are fans of Leicester City, can you research information on Leicester City F.C. and answer the questions? As a challenge, can you find out any other interesting facts about the Leicester City F.C.?

Art

Can you draw a still life picture of one of your plants that you collected information on yesterday? As a challenge, can you label it?

I hope you all have a super day!

Mr G :)
