time to do some more learning!
Phonics time
Phase 2: Rabbits, Mice and Squirrels
Read the flashcards, saying the sounds.
Read the tricky words: I, no, go, to, the, into, his, him
Now write them in your book.
Today think of some words with a 'ff' digraph at the end of them such as - huff, puff, off
Letter formation - write the 'ff' in your book.
Listen to the sounds in the words and stretch them, then write them in your book eg. h-u-ff
Phase 3: Foxes, Owls , Hedgehogs Read the flashcards, saying the sounds.
Read he, she, we, me, be, was, are, see, his, him
Now write them in your book.
Today think of some words with a 'ng' sound at the end such as - sing, song, wing
Letter formation - write the 'ng' digraph
Listen to the sounds in the words and stretch them, then write them in your book eg. s-o-ng
Read: wing, sing, king

Look at the power point or watch a version on youtube.
Today in your book draw a picture from the beginning, middle and end of the story.

Next write about the pictures.
Rabbits, Squirrels, Mice - write some words, say and write the initial sounds or copy words from the words map.
Hedgehogs - Say and write a sentence about one of the pictures.
Foxes and Owls - Say and write a sentence (or more) about the beginning, middle and the end.
Remember
When writing sentences to use a capital letter at the beginning, finger spaces between the words and a full stop at the end.
Then read it back to your grown up.

We have been learning about measuring and using words to describe height, (tall, short) length, (long, short)
distance, (far, near) weight, (heavy, light)
Today we are going to use words to describe capacity:
full, empty, half full, nearly full, nearly empty

Find some different size containers form around the house. Fill a bowl with a little water (hope this is ok!)
Explore emptying and filling the containers.
Then find the smallest container or a spoon and count how many scoops it takes to fill the different size containers.
Which hols the most? Which holds the least?
