Hi year 6! Hope you are enjoying your home learning. Here are your activities for today. Remember that you can do them in any order but make sure that you complete all of them. I hope that you are all keeping well and safe.
PE
Choose a session from the PE folder and carry out a physical activity. If the weather is nice try and get some fresh air and do some physical exercise outside whilst it is still sunny.

Grammar/Writing

I can proof-read and edit writing
Value: perseverance
I would like you to complete the challenges on the power point. Look for the spelling and punctuation errors. Once you have written the section out with the corrections that you think were needed click on the next button to see if you were right. Remember to use joined/cursive writing . If you have missed some corrections out put them in.
Reading
Friday 27th March 2020
I can develop my inference skills
Value: Optimism
Have a go at answering the questions based on the 'Picnic.' These questions are helping you to develop your inference skills so that you will have to read between the lines. Make sure that you write your answers in full sentences in your homework/exercise book. Once you have completed the questions check your answers with the sheet provided.
Maths
27.03.2020
XXVII.III.MMXX
I can subtract decimal numbers in the context of money
Value: Self-belief
If you are still unsure about decimal numbers re-play the you tube clip on decimal numbers (see link.) Then read the learning reminders. Remember that when you are subtracting decimal numbers you need to line up the digits correctly and include a decimal point. Complete either the mild or hot sheet recording working out and answers in books.
Remember to use a ruler! Remember if it is a whole number taking away a decimal number you need to put your place holders in.
Science
I can label the major organs of the body and explain what each organ does
Value: Self-belief
Over the next couple of weeks we will be learning about the Human Body. To get us started I would like you to have a go at identifying where the different organs of the body go and to explain their function. I have included a you tube clip which I would like you to watch. Then if you have access to a printer you may want to print off the outline and just cut out the definitions or write them on the sheet. You can then stick your work into your exercise/homework book. Alternatively, if you haven't got access to a printer your could draw an outline of a body and label it with the different organs and explain their different functions.
It is up to you how you present it.
Enjoy today. Make sure that you have breaks in between your work. Keep smiling! It would be great if you could email me some pictures of your homework or any homework that you have completed or even pictures of you completing your work.
Missing you all so much
Mrs Tyler
