Monday 18th May

Good morning year 2/3

How are you all doing? I hope you all had a lovely weekend, what did you get up to?

I watched the return of football with the German Bundesliga beginning on Saturday. It was very strange seeing the football played in empty stadiums and the players doing their social distancing celebrations. However, it was lovely to see how far we have come and how encouraging this is for everyone around the world!

The weather this week is meant to be quite nice and sunny, so make sure you stay safe if you're enjoying the sun.

PE

Start your day by doing a Joe Wickes workout to get your bodies and brains warmed up.

English

As some of you know, my favourite football team is Arsenal. In the 2003–04 season, Arsenal regained the Premier League without a single defeat. Over the 38 games played, their league record stood at 26 wins, 12 draws and 0 losses!

I have attached a caption sheet for you to all have a go at writing what the players could be saying!

Year 2 - can you use expanded noun phrases to describe [for example, the blue butterfly] in your speech?

Year 3 - When writing your speech make sure you are using inverted commas for speech [for example, "What an incredible goal!" Shouted Robert Pires.].

As a challenge, can you write some questions an interviewer would ask Thiery Henry, one of Arsenals most famous strikers?

Maths

Year 2 - I have attached a Powerpoint for you to have a look at and some questions to have a go at about comparing number sentences. As a challenge, do you think you can complete the challenge sheet and solve the problems?

Year 3 - I have attached a Powerpoint for you to have a look at and some questions to have a go at about adding three digit numbers and ones. As a challenge, do you think you can complete the challenge sheet and solve the problems?

Also everyone try to get on TT rockstars as well so you can practice your times tables!

Science

Can you go on a walk and take a picture of 10 different plants or trees. As a challenge, can you find out a fun fact about each of the plants or trees and write it down?

I hope you all have a brilliant day!

Mr G :)
