PE

Choose a session from the PE folder and carry out a physical activity. If the weather is nice try and get some fresh air and do some physical exercise outside whilst it is still sunny.  Why not go for a walk?  Go for a bike ride?   Enjoy that sunshine and get active.

Spelling Tuesday  28th  2020

I can put my year 5 and year 6  tricky words into a sentence.

Value: perseverance

Have a go at using the  Look, Cover, Write and Check method  to learn how the spell the words which are underneath.  .    Write down the words that you have learnt in a sentence. Remember that you need to be able to spell these words by the end of year 6.

For example:  The work that the girl produced was marvellous because it was evident to see that she had put in a lot of effort.

lightning, marvellous, mischievious, muscle, necessary

Reading/Grammar

Tuesday  28th   April 2020

I would like you to read the extract in the English folder.  It is an extract from The Snow-Walker's Son by Catherine Fisher.  You can also listen to the extract here: https://soundcloud.com/talkforwriting/doors.  Then complete the following activities.

Reading comprehension

Read through the extract  and underline any new words.  Use a dictionary to find out the meanings.  If you haven’t got a dictionary use an online dictionary on the internet.

Eg  flickered – means to shine with a light that is sometimes bright and sometimes weak.

Grammar activity

Highlight all of the adjectives in a colour of your choice –  remember  an adjective is a describing word  (it describes the noun)

Next highlight all of the verbs in another colour.  Remember a verb describes an action.

Check you work by looking at the answer sheet.
