English time
Today lets start by practicing phonics.
Rabbits, Squirrels and Mice - phase 2 cvc word building
Hedgehogs and Owls - phase 2 cvc words and writing sentences
Foxes, Owls and Hedgehogs - phase 3 make the words
Find the rhyming pairs
Rabbits, Mice and Squirrels - write some of the rhyming pairs
eg. cat mat frog log
Use the rhyming word mat to help.
Rhyming pairs word mat. For some words stretch the sound and write the letters c-a-t, l-o-g, find other words on the mat.
Foxes, Hedgehogs and Owls - choose rhyming pairs and write sentences, use 'and' to join the words.
Eg. The cat and the mat.
The frog and the log. (or dog!)
Think about your punctuation - capital letters, full stops and finger spaces.
Take care with your letter formation.
Use the rhyming word mat to help you spell some of the words.
Remember to read your sentences aloud.
Maths time
Join in with the number songs.
Rabbits, Squirrels and Mice With help from your grown up write the double number sentences. Eg 1+1=2 2+2=4
Owls and Hedgehogs - write the double number sentences in your book
Counting in tens
Foxes - count the groups of ten
Foxes - count in 10's and fill in the missing numbers
After lunch
Story time!
Things to do during the afternoon:
- letter formation in books
- spellings (use the word lists in your pack)
- reading time (little books and lotto words)
- play phonics play games
See if you can find any bugs. Go on a mini beast hunt in your garden or when you go for a walk!
