Welcome from the Headteacher
It is a real privilege to welcome you to The Grove Primary School.
The Grove is a warm, inclusive and ambitious school where children are known, valued and encouraged to achieve their very best. We are proud to be part of Mowbray Education Trust, sharing its values of Inclusivity, Aspiration and Collaboration.
Our vision is Exploring the World Through Words, built around a simple belief: Words Open Worlds.
We know that language has the power to transform children’s lives. Through books, conversations, carefully chosen vocabulary, writing and a rich curriculum, we want every child to develop the knowledge, confidence and curiosity they need to understand the world around them and imagine what might be possible for their future.
At The Grove, our children come first. We want every child to feel safe, happy and that they truly belong, while also knowing that we will expect highly of them. Strong relationships matter to us, but so do strong teaching, purposeful learning and the belief that every child can achieve and grow.
We are fortunate to have a dedicated team who know our children and families well. Together, we work hard to remove barriers to learning, support children when they need us and help them become increasingly confident and independent. We recognise that every child is different, and inclusion at The Grove means ensuring that all children can participate fully in the life and learning of our school.
Alongside academic achievement, we want children to leave The Grove as kind, thoughtful and curious young people who are ready for the next stage of their education. We want them to have a love of reading and learning, confidence in their own voice and the knowledge that the world is full of possibilities for them to explore.
The partnership between school and home is incredibly important to us. We want parents and carers to feel welcome, listened to and confident that we will work alongside them in the best interests of their child.
If you are considering The Grove for your child, I hope our website gives you a sense of who we are, but there is no substitute for seeing our school in action. We would be delighted to welcome you to visit us, meet our children and staff and experience The Grove for yourself.
I look forward to welcoming you.
