Reverend Alvin J. Boone Sr.
The Reverend Alvin J. Boone Sr. is a native of Virginia Beach, Virginia,
whom now resides in Winfall, North Carolina with his wife Mrs. La'Shon Boone. They were blessed with
four wonderful children; Alvin J.
Boone Jr. [A.J.], Alicia K. Boone, both whom resides in Virginia Beach, VA; Jasmine Gary whom
resides
in Winfall, NC;
and Herbert Gary whom resides in Indiana.
Pastor Boone received his primary and secondary education in the Virginia Beach City Public School System. Pastor Boone attended First Colonial High School, Virginia Beach, Virginia. In Addition, he obtained a certificate in Carpentry from the Virginia Beach Technical & Career Center, Virginia Beach, Virginia. Pastor Boone received a Bachelor Degree in Biblical Studies from Alemda University. Pastor Boone has also completed Ministerial Classes and was appointed Youth Pastor of the Youth Department at a local church in Virginia Beach. He is a Licensed and Ordained Missionary Baptist Minster.
Pastor Boone has received many awards and honors and has held numerous potions among which are the following: Member of the NAACP; Member of the Trustee Board; Member of the Roanoke Ministerial Alliance; Sunday School Teacher as well as Youth Pastor, just to name a few. He also is a member if numerous civic and religious organizations on the local, state and national levels.
Pastor Boone continues to remain an active citizen and is always willing to volunteer his time and efforts to the youth in his community. He has a special interest in the youth in that "They are The Hope For Our Tomorrow".
Pastor Boone is extraordinary man of God; a distinguished minister and has a wonderful, yet unique personality in that anyone that crosses his path in life are truly blessed just to have been in his presence.
Over the last 12 years Pastor Boone has made many accomplishments while serving here at Melton's Grove Baptist Church. Just to name a few, forming a Male Chorus; Youth Choir; Weekly Bible Study; Paved Parking Lot; Enlargement of Choir Box; and a Brand new state of the art Sound System. But recently Pastor, branched off on faith and a vision to minister through the airways of North Carolina. The "Enjoying Jesus" radio ministry came about on April 5, 2003. The first sermon broadcasted was "We Fall Down, But We Get Back Up". This new ministry has uplifted the saints of God, through preaching, and singing.
But most importantly, Pastor Boone along with his family have brought the members of Melton's Grove Baptist Church closer together as a Church Family in that we are able to show that Christian love that runs from heart to heart and breast to breast.
As the youth say at Melton Grove, "Boone Loves the Kids'!!!
